1. Coffee can boost short term memory
During exam time at the College of Charleston, you can find students huddled in the library sipping on a cup of Joe to boost their energy. But your cup of Lowcountry Blend coffee not only keeps you alert, but it also can improve your short term memory! When a group of 15 healthy male volunteers received 100 milligrams of caffeine, which is almost equivalent to a cup of coffee, Austrian researchers found a surge in the volunteers’ brain activity. When compared to a control group who received a placebo showed no increase of brain activity. As a result, the study revealed that a cup of coffee can boost short term memory and concentration.

2. Coffee is filled with healthful antioxidants
Did you know that coffee has more antioxidants than green tea and cocoa? Scientists have been able to identify 1,000 antioxidants in unprocessed coffee beans, and hundreds more develop during the roasting process. Antioxidants fight inflammation, which is an underlying cause of arthritis, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.

3. Coffee can curb depression
Many studies have linked drinking coffee daily can lower the rates of depression in both men and women A recent study from the Archives of Internal Medicine revealed that women who drink coffee regularly are 20% less likely to develop depression.

Remember, life is short, stay awake for it with a cup of Lowcountry coffee!
